The presentation will provide a review of current definitions of various forms of psychological maltreatment before exploring the short and long-term impact. Issues related to identification, assessment, and intervention will be included.

Brian Allen is a clinical psychologist in the Center for Safe and Healthy Families at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, completed his doctoral internship at the UC Davis Medical Center Children’s Hospital, and was a post-doctoral fellow at the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress at UCLA and Duke University.
